Human beings wait and sigh for callings from God, unaware when the calling reaches them. It approaches each individual at different times of their life. Getting closer and closer, nearer each day. We move towards it. We step into it unconsciously. Human spirits where are you looking at? What are you speculating? Even before adolescence, one could be useful in doing good deeds to fellow human beings or other duties as well.
There are various kinds of callings. Human beings not until you are called to preach or spread the Word of the Lord must you feel being called. Without being aware that you are already called to duty in various aspects of life. You must spiritualize your work in the various aspects of life that confronts you at any given time.
Every task taken upon oneself, that furthers Creation is a calling and a duty towards God. It is wrong for a person to risk his life in the fulfilment of a duty which he cannot acknowledge within himself as being right. Where love is missing there is also no life, there all is dead. Loyalty is a quality of love – of the right love which embraces everything. Not with the human understanding. To embrace everything means to have the capacity of being directed upon everything personal as well as upon impersonal matters. It is not meant to be one-sided. Every task of good volition to further Creation you take upon yourself is a calling. Let genuine loyalty arise within you or hold aloof where you can not be loyal in the duty allotted to you. Take for instance motherhood, which is a calling when granted this grace. With love and loyalty must you perform this duty, if not do not venture. Fatherhood is a calling when granted. Being a husband or wife to someone are callings when also granted. Nursing, teaching, being a caretaker to someone or people can also be mediums through which you can be of service to the Light. With “Nursing” particularly – this duty must be diligently and loyally fulfilled so as not to burden oneself with guilt before the Lord. These are few callings of various aspects of life I will be mentioning here today.
Let me now expatiate on motherhood. Such a delicate and most vital role a human being can render to another like herself. Nurturing from the bud. This role is a unique one when granted by God like I mentioned earlier, that must not fail but must be fulfilled. It must be performed well with care, love and caution. A lot depends on this role of motherhood. The Lord has so endowed every mother who stands aright in Creation, the ability and power to fulfill this crucial and vital role. Every child is to the right mother, so she must take care of her offspring regardless. Take care of all the ones allotted to her. She must train and guide their path in the way of the Lord. If she refuses to and goes the wrong path, what is then the repercussion of such a mother’s act? If she brought up the children with the achievement of material gains only, made that their utmost desire. What has that the mother done to herself? She has failed the Lord Who she must account to at a point in time for her unscrupulous deeds. She a woman that the Lord has so invested and lavished so much upon, to enable her never to fail but to fulfill in such duties. What a calamity? What a pity? What a downward trend for her children who she was supposed to uplift. It is not the fault of the upcoming ones who do not know which direction to take. All depended on that mother which direction she chooses to lead them. Now take for instance the mother who decided to do it right. Nurtured the children well. Protected them from physical harm the way she could. Brought them up well in a spiritual way with fear of the Lord instilled in them with good conducts. That mother and only that mother is pleasing before the Lord, this she will reap. Nothing is lost in Creation. She has sown good seeds which she will harvest at a time in time. She has lived a worthy life of loyal service to God. She has fulfilled her calling, her delicate duty before the Almighty God. That is a good mother as it should be. She has thereby furthered Creation because those who spring from her, the female ones particularly amongst her children might likely become mothers in the near future if granted the grace. They will also do the same, thereby Creation is being furthered in the right direction, pleasing before the Giver of Life – God. So therefore, the furthering continues.
Now let us take briefly the father’s duty. A man who was granted the grace of being a father to other human beings like himself. He is not the owner of these ones but the Lord is. He did not guide nor was he a good example to the children and also did not participate in their upliftment towards what is noble and high. He is just a caretaker who decided instead to be a tyrant in his home. It must always be his way, his ideas whether wrong or right. Even the wife fears him, thereby this also interrupted with the upbringing of the children. He did not play his part as a loving father. He did not do it right. That father has failed in his calling of fatherhood towards the Lord. This he must account for. He has sown a bad seed which he must reap at a time in time.
Every human being has come on his sojourn to this world to atone for his or her sins, to become conscious in Creation and to also further Creation in the ability given to him therein.
Marriage is one of the greatest opportunities given to mankind if permitted. It could bring about the advancement between two neighbors in this regard. The closest ones at that on earth where characters most times are unhidden. The two that tag along till death do them part. There in marriage is the possibility of atonement of sins and spiritual advancement between the two. These are duties taken upon the two unconsciously with the responsibilities attached to it. The woman – the wife as the priestess of light and the man – as the protector. As the priestess of light, the woman is to transmit from on high to her husband and her home. A lofty task indeed. A great responsibility lies with the woman. As a wife, when the man is down or oppressed by material worries, she is to uplift the man to look up and remind him of the Heights. She must make the home harmoniously beautiful, accommodating and welcoming for her husband. As a matter of fact, make her home into a sanctuary. Yes, a sanctuary indeed must it be, for what is noble and high. That is the lofty duty of a wife as it should be. That is service to the Lord in her duty. That is her calling for the time. This she must do and fulfill diligently with love to be pleasing before the Lord. Thereby sowing a good seed which she will reap at a time in time making her a good servant of the Lord in that duty. Both husband and the wife in marriage must fulfill their duties towards each other in checks upon each other at all times. Concern about each other’s wellbeing not mainly materially but spiritually, so as to make the marriage worthwhile. Both must be in a better state spiritually than when they met, before the separation between the two when the Owner of Life will call one away. Couples utilize every moment to uplift each other towards the heights and not downwards. So at the end of it all, you shall both have cause to glorify the Lord Who made your paths cross each other in the first place. Now take marriage seriously, not more to material aspects but more to the spiritual benefits. Marriage are duties of the two combined that go along side with each other’s effort in love and dedication towards the fulfilment of mutual spiritual advancement.
For the nurse, this duty should be observed with care – also a delicate duty which involves life. It involves taking care of the physical bodies of other human beings. The physical body is a gift to every human spirit to be able to express themselves here on earth. There is no room for mistake. That will be costly and a great guilt on the part of the nurse. Taking care of these bodies to last longer in this world, if the Lord permits, in order to have more time here on earth to mold characters, to atone for sins, to be better human beings and to fulfill the purpose for why incarnation was necessary in the first place. Nurse’s duties are demanding. A nurse must practice tolerance and patience in order to fulfil this calling with love and loyalty. Even with this duty, there is the possibility of atonement of sin for that nurse so long as it is done rightly. This duty, this calling must be performed with great care and caution in order to sow good seeds and not the bad ones which could burden one with guilt.
As for being a caretaker of a home and family, take for instance of someone taking care of an elderly couple. Maintaining the home for them. Also cooking for them at the same time and at the right time. House cleaned without being told. The elderly ones satisfied with her services, not stressed at any time, or in anyway. Rather they glorified the Lord for sending such a helper to them. Regardless of the payment involved for her services. The caretaker and only that caretaker by serving these elderly ones in this manner has served God. She has diligently with love and loyalty fulfilled in this duty which will be rewarded to her by the Lord through one of His Laws – The Law of Reciprocal Action. The Law of sowing and reaping. There in this duty is also the possibility of an atonement of sin just like in the case of the nurse.
Being a teacher – This duty must also be performed with love and loyalty. This also is a delicate duty. Teachers do not mislead your pupils. Guide your pupils in the right direction in conjunction with the training of their parents. Spiritualize your work as I mentioned earlier. Not strictly on only the intellectual know how. If you do not teach with love in the heart and guide your pupils aright but mislead them, you have failed in the duty that confronts you and thereby burden yourself with guilt which you must reap at a point in time. So be warned.
Each of the above-mentioned duties must be taken seriously in order not to burden oneself with guilt. Duty must be with conviction and love for the duty, without which it is meaningless and not to be reckoned with or recommended. A duty is only fulfilled where there exist conviction and love in loyalty executed. Treat every human being as a treasure of the Lord that they are in the confronted duties that link to everyone that crosses your path. Strive vigorously in helping one another in various ways possible as per your capacity. Do not take any calling of various aspect of life lightly but seriously as I mentioned earlier. In various aspects of life there is the possibility of atonement of sin and rewarding if done rightly. If otherwise, one could easily burden oneself with enormous guilt.
Callings are gifts from the Lord which afford man the opportunity to loyally serve God. All awaiting a call, not aware of being called already to duty in various aspects of life that involve furthering of Creation, which you must now be alert and vigilant to detect when it confronts you. Take care of everything entrusted to you by the Lord, even including your physical body. All belongs to Him Who you must account to after an earthly death how well it has been kept and utilized. Take up the gift which lie ready for you everywhere in Creation, in various aspect of life. Exact yourself to recognize them aright at last. I wish you this.
